SEE ALSO...

CA II Antibody (G-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects CA II protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). CA II (G-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Carbonic anhydrases (CAs) are a significant family of zinc metalloenzymes that play a crucial role in catalyzing the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide, which is vital for maintaining acid-base balance in the body. CA II, encoded by the human CA2 gene located on chromosome 8q21, is predominantly found in the cytoplasm and is known for its high turnover rate and extensive tissue distribution, making CA II essential for various physiological processes such as respiration, bone resorption, and the formation of bodily fluids like saliva and gastric juice. Additionally, CA II interacts with other proteins, including the sodium bicarbonate cotransporter, which is important for regulating intracellular pH and bicarbonate transport. The diverse expression patterns of different CA isoforms, such as CA IV and CA IX, highlight the complexity of carbonic anhydrase functions in both normal physiology and pathological conditions, including cancer.

what is a recomended dilution for sc48351 AF 488 antibody to stain for FACS.

Asked by: angry Bird
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1 µg of fluorochrome-conjugated antibody primary antibody, CA II (G-2): sc-48351 AF488 for each tube of 100 µl of the prepared cell suspension (equal to 1 million cells) to each tube. A link to our recommended protocol for flow cytometry is below. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/flow-cytometry

Can CA II (G-2): sc-48351 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, CA II (G-2): sc-48351 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We used this antibody to visualize differentiatedWe used this antibody to visualize differentiated enterocytes on paraffin-embedded sections of human colonic epithelia. Signal specificity was great for doing double and triple stainings. Immunohistochemical staining on FFPE sections from human colonic tissue works also very nicely with this antibody.
