SEE ALSO...

C4BPα Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects C4BPα of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-C4BPα antibody (D-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. C4BPα plays a crucial role in regulating the complement system by binding to complement component C4 and preventing excessive activation that could lead to tissue damage. C4BPα is primarily located in plasma and consists of multiple subunits, which allows effective inhibition of the complement pathway. The structure of C4BPα, including both α and β chains, is essential for binding to C4, thereby accelerating inactivation and controlling the classical pathway of complement activation. This regulation maintains immune homeostasis and prevents complement-mediated cell lysis, which can result in inflammatory diseases. C4BPα′s ability to modulate the complement system highlights its importance in immune response and potential therapeutic applications in conditions with dysregulated complement activity.
