SEE ALSO...

C23 Antibody (MS-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects C23 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry (IHC), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). C23 monoclonal antibody (MS-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase, phycoerythrin, fluorescein isothiocyanate, and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. C23, also known as nucleolin (NCL), is a crucial eukaryotic nucleolar phosphoprotein that plays a significant role in the synthesis and maturation of ribosomes, which are essential for protein synthesis in all living cells. C23 is primarily localized in the dense fibrillar regions of the nucleolus, where C23 contains four RNA binding domains that facilitate interaction with pre-ribosomal RNA during ribosome biogenesis. This localization ensures efficient processing of ribosomal RNA and assembly of ribosomal subunits, which are necessary for cellular function and growth. C23 interacts with various proteins, including nucleolar protein B23, and phosphorylation by Cdc2 and casein kinase II leads to translocation from the nucleolus to the cytoplasm, highlighting a dynamic role in cellular processes. C23 interaction with human telomerase reverse transcriptase subunit (TERT) is particularly important for nucleolar localization of TERT, further emphasizing significance in cellular regulation and stability.

Did anyone tried C23-conjugated to agarose for IP? If yes, can you please share or refer me to a paper for the IP protocol?

Asked by: ECRM
Thank you for your question. There are currently 22 product citations using this antibody for IP. It is not known if any of those publications specifically used the agarose-conjugated version of this antibody. However, you can find these application-specific citations by using the Product Citation Search on our website (under the Resources menu at the bottom of the page). You can also refer to our general IP protocol for recommendations on using our agarose-conjugated antibodies. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/misc/citationSearch.jsp

Hi, I have ordered the C23 (MS-3) Alexafluor 488 antibody, however, I am a little confused about the IF protocol to be followed. Could you please provide me a protocol to use the antibody?

Asked by: Sravani
Thank you for your question. A link to our recommended protocol for using this mouse monoclonal, C23 Antibody (MS-3): sc-8031, for immunofluorescence. Please refer to the very end of the protocol, section "E. Direct Immunofluorescence Staining" for using the directly conjugated AF488 primary antibody. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining

Dear officer: I ordered sc-8031. NCL antibody (C23 Ms-3), I want to do immunoprecipitation with this antibody, and want to use NCL peptide to elute the immunopreciptated products out, is there any chance I can get some NCL peptide from you? Manhong

Asked by: Manhong Guo
Thank you for your question. Our C23 (MS-3) antibody, sc-8031, was raised against amino acids 1-706 representing full length C23 of human origin. We do not have a peptide available for elution.
