SEE ALSO...

Btk Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Btk protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Btk (E-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Btk, also known as Bruton tyrosine kinase, plays a crucial role in B cell development and signaling, making Btk essential for the immune response. Mutations in Btk can lead to X-linked agammaglobulinemia, a condition characterized by a significant reduction in antibody production and increased susceptibility to infections, highlighting Btk′s importance in maintaining immune system integrity. Btk is primarily localized in the cytoplasm and is recruited to the plasma membrane upon B cell receptor activation, where Btk participates in downstream signaling pathways that promote B cell maturation and proliferation. Understanding Btk function and localization is vital for developing targeted therapies for immunodeficiencies and related disorders.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Btk Antibody (E-9): sc-28387?

Asked by: Trav11
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins (m-IgGκ) conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety

I would like to use Btk Antibody (E-9): sc-28387 for double staining with another mouse monoclonal primary antibody. Is this possible?

Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. In cases like this, we recommend using our directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibodies. Currently, sc-28387 is available conjugated to agarose, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488 and Alexa Fluor® 647. If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact our Technical Service department by calling 800-457-3801 option 2, emailing scbt@scbt.com, or using the Live Chat function on our website.

Is Btk Antibody(E-9) specific for Btk and no for Itk?

Asked by: addiagnost
Thank you for your question. Btk Antibody (E-9) is a mouse monoclonal that is specific for Btk. It is not expected to cross-react with Itk (also known as Emt, or IL2-inducible T-cell kinase).
