BTG1 Antibody (2095C1a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects BTG1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). BTG1 Antibody (2095C1a) is available as a non-conjugated BTG1 monoclonal antibody (2095C1a). BTG1 is a member of the B cell translocation gene family, which plays a crucial role in regulating cell proliferation and transcription. BTG1 functions as an anti-proliferative factor, with expression being induced in response to various mitogenic and differentiative signals. BTG1 is predominantly expressed during the G0/G1 phases of the cell cycle, where BTG1 acts to inhibit progression through G1, thereby preventing uncontrolled cell division. The regulation of BTG1 is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing tumorigenesis, as BTG1 downregulation during the G1 phase allows cells to transition into the S phase, where DNA replication occurs. Additionally, BTG1 interacts with other proteins involved in cell cycle regulation, including BTG2, which is known to respond to DNA damage and promote cell cycle arrest. The ability of BTG1 to modulate cell cycle dynamics underscores its importance in cancer biology and therapeutic strategies aimed at targeting cell proliferation.

I am using BTG1 (2095C1a): sc-81207 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
