BST-2 Antibody (E-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BST-2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BST-2 Antibody (E-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BST-2, also known as Bone Marrow Stromal Antigen 2 or CD317 antigen, is a single-pass type II membrane protein predominantly expressed in liver, heart, placenta, and lung tissues, as well as on synovial and bone marrow stromal cell lines. BST-2 acts as a tethering factor for newly formed virions, playing a crucial role in innate immune response against viral infections. This function helps restrict virus release from infected cells, limiting viral spread and enhancing host control of infections. BST-2 has also been implicated in B cell activation, especially in rheumatoid arthritis, highlighting BST-2′s significance in immune regulation and potential therapeutic targeting.
