bradykinin Antibody (4A1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects bradykinin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-bradykinin antibody (4A1) is available as the non-conjugated format. Bradykinin, also referred to as Kinin-9 or Kallidin, is a crucial endogenous vasodepressor hormone that plays a significant role in regulating vascular tone, fluid balance, and electrolyte homeostasis within the body, which is vital for maintaining normal blood pressure levels. This peptide exerts effects by acting on specific receptors, leading to vasodilation and a decrease in blood pressure through the mobilization of intracellular calcium. Additionally, bradykinin interacts with various proteins, including the bradykinin B2 receptor, which mediates physiological effects, and the angiotensin-converting enzyme, which can influence degradation and activity. Bradykinin induces muscle contraction in bronchial smooth muscles, intestines, and uterus, further highlighting importance in various physiological processes, including pain sensation, where bradykinin is recognized as one of the most potent pain-inducing substances.
