BPGM Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BPGM protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BPGM (C-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BPGM protein, or 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate mutase, consists of 259 amino acids and is a member of the phosphoglycerate mutase family, functioning primarily as a homodimer. BPGM plays a vital role in the regulation of hemoglobin′s oxygen affinity by catalyzing the conversion of 3-phospho-D-glyceroyl phosphate to 2,3-bisphospho-D-glycerate (2,3-BPG). This reaction modulates the concentration of 2,3-BPG within red blood cells, which is crucial for oxygen delivery to tissues. BPGM is encoded on human chromosome 7, a region associated with various genetic disorders, including Osteogenesis imperfecta and Williams-Beuren syndrome. Anti-BPGM antibody (C-4) helps researchers gain insights into BPGM′s function and implications in oxygen transport and related pathologies.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-373819 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
