SEE ALSO...

BMP-9 Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BMP-9 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-BMP-9 antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Bone morphogenic protein-9 (BMP-9) is a critical member of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) superfamily, known for its essential role in tissue morphogenesis, particularly in the development and maintenance of bone and connective tissues. BMP-9 is primarily secreted by liver cells and has been shown to interact with specific receptors that promote cell proliferation and regulate blood glucose levels, effects that are distinct from those induced by TGF-beta. Notably, BMP-9 is involved in various post-translational modifications, including glycosylation, which can influence stability and activity, thereby impacting therapeutic potential. Research indicates that BMP-9 can enhance bone formation in vivo, making BMP-9 a promising candidate for innovative treatments in regenerative medicine and bone-related disorders.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514211 P appropriate for?

Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization

Can SC-514211 be used for P-IHC? If so, at what concentration?

Asked by: Nalini
sc-514211 is not currently recommended for IHC on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, or IHC(P) because this application has not yet been tested. It is recommended for IF, or immunofluorescence or immunohistochemistry on fresh or frozen tissues or cells fixed in acetone or methanol. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50 for IF, or a range of 1:50-1:500.
