Blood Group Wrb Antibody (BRIC14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Blood Group Wrb protein of human origin by immunofluorescence (IF) and flow cytometry (FCM). Blood Group Wrb (BRIC14) monoclonal antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including phycoerythrin (PE) and fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), to suit diverse experimental needs. Blood group antigens, such as the Wrb antigen, play a crucial role in cell recognition and immune response, as they are primarily composed of carbohydrate structures that are added to lipids and proteins on the surface of erythrocytes and certain epithelial cells. The Wrb antigen, specifically, is associated with red blood cell band 3 and glycophorin A, which are essential for maintaining the structural integrity and functionality of red blood cells. Understanding the interactions and modifications of these proteins is vital, as alterations in blood group antigens can influence transfusion compatibility and immune responses in various clinical settings. The Wright (Wr) blood group antigens, including Wra and Wrb, are encoded by alleles of the same gene, and their expression can be modulated during malignant cellular transformation, highlighting their importance in both normal physiology and disease states.
