Biotin Antibody (BK-1/39) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Biotin protein across multiple species through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Biotin antibody (BK-1/39) comes in non-conjugated form and various conjugates, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® options. Biotin, also known as Vitamin B7, Vitamin H, or Coenzyme R, plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism, particularly in carboxylation reactions essential for synthesizing fatty acids and amino acids, as well as in gluconeogenesis. A tetrahydrothiophene ring fused with an ureido ring characterizes Biotin′s structure, making this protein vital as a cofactor for carboxylase enzymes that catalyze critical metabolic pathways.
