βPIX Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the beta PIX protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-βPIX antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Beta PIX protein plays a crucial role in cellular signaling as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for the small GTPase Rac, which is essential for regulating actin cytoskeleton dynamics and cell motility. This function is particularly important in processes such as cell migration, which is vital for development, immune responses, and wound healing. Additionally, beta PIX interacts with p21 activated kinase (PAK) and is involved in the Cdc42 to Rac signaling pathway, facilitating the localization and activation of PAK through its N-terminal SH3 domain. Beta PIX exists in two isoforms, α and β, both of which are highly expressed in heart, muscle, and thymus tissues of humans and rats. The αPIX isoform is known to be phosphorylated by various signaling pathways, including those activated by platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) and EphB2 receptors, further emphasizing its significance in cellular signaling and function.
