β Tubulin Antibody (TUB 2.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect β Tubulin (β-TUB), also known as tubulin beta chain, across multiple species including mouse, rat, human, and bovine. β-TUB monoclonal antibody (TUB 2.1) is raised against purified brain β-TUB of rat origin, ensuring robust and precise binding in various applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. β-TUB is a fundamental component of the cytoskeleton, forming heterodimers with α Tubulin that assemble into microtubules, which are essential for maintaining cell shape, facilitating intracellular transport, and enabling accurate cell division. Post-translational modifications of β-TUB, including acetylation, detyrosination, and polyglutamylation, play critical roles in regulating microtubule stability and dynamics, as well as in modulating interactions with motor proteins like kinesin and dynein, thereby influencing processes such as intracellular trafficking and signal transduction. These modifications are crucial for the functional diversity and adaptability of microtubules in different cellular contexts and during various stages of the cell cycle. Additionally, β-TUB exists in multiple isoforms, such as β1, β2, β3, β4, β5, β6, and β8, each exhibiting unique expression patterns and functional roles, including the neuron-specific β3 isoform which is essential for neuronal development and function. Understanding the structural and functional nuances of β-TUB, including post-translational modifications, is essential for elucidating mechanisms underlying cellular architecture and the pathogenesis of diseases like cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Anti-β-TUB antibody (TUB 2.1) is available in both non-conjugated forms and various conjugated forms, including horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for diverse experimental requirements.
