β Tubulin Antibody (3F3-G2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody designed to detect β Tubulin, also known as tubulin beta chain, across mouse, rat, and human species. β Tubulin monoclonal antibody (3F3-G2) is raised against brain extract of rat origin, ensuring strong and reliable binding in applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. β Tubulin is a fundamental component of the cytoskeleton, forming heterodimers with α Tubulin that polymerize into microtubules, which are essential for maintaining cell shape, enabling intracellular transport, and facilitating proper cell division. The structural integrity of β Tubulin, including its ability to bind and hydrolyze GTP, is crucial for the dynamic instability of microtubules, allowing cells to rapidly reorganize their cytoskeleton in response to various signals. This structural versatility makes β Tubulin indispensable for processes such as mitosis, intracellular trafficking, and the establishment of cell polarity. Additionally, β Tubulin exists in multiple isoforms, including β1, β2, β3, β4, β5, β6, and β8, each contributing uniquely to cellular functions and offering insights into tissue-specific roles and disease mechanisms. Understanding the precise structure of β Tubulin is vital for elucidating its role in cellular architecture and the pathogenesis of diseases like cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Anti-β Tubulin antibody (3F3-G2) is recommended for researchers investigating the intricate architecture and dynamics of the cytoskeleton.

I am using β Tubulin (3F3-G2): sc-53140 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: TinTin
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
