SEE ALSO...

β Enolase Antibody (XX-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects beta Enolase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). β Enolase (XX-10) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. Enolases are highly conserved cytoplasmic glycolytic enzymes that play a crucial role in energy metabolism, particularly in muscle tissue where they facilitate the conversion of phosphoglyceric acid to phosphoenolpyruvic acid in the glycolytic pathway. Among the three isoenzymes—α Enolase, β Enolase, and γ Enolase—β Enolase, also known as Enolase 3 or muscle-specific enolase, is predominantly expressed in adult skeletal muscle, where β Enolase exists as both homodimers and heterodimers with α Enolase. This specific localization and expression pattern are vital for muscle function and energy production, as β Enolase is essential for maintaining the glycolytic flux necessary for muscle contraction and endurance. Mutations in the gene encoding β Enolase can lead to glycogenesis type XIII, a condition characterized by muscle weakness, fatigability, and exercise-induced myalgia, underscoring the importance of β Enolase in muscle health. With detection capabilities across multiple species and applications, anti-beta Enolase antibody (XX-10) serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying muscle metabolism and related disorders.

Can sc-100811: β Enolase (XX-10) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100811: β Enolase (XX-10) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
