SEE ALSO...

Bestrophin Antibody (E6-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Bestrophin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Bestrophin antibody (E6-6) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Bestrophin plays a crucial role in maintaining retinal health, forming oligomeric chloride channels in the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) that are sensitive to intracellular calcium levels. These channels are essential for regulating ion transport and fluid homeostasis in the retina, which is vital for photoreceptor function and overall vision. Mutations in Bestrophin can lead to Best vitelliform macular dystrophy, commonly known as Best disease, characterized by the accumulation of lipofuscin-like material in the RPE, resulting in progressive vision loss. Human Bestrophin encodes a 585 amino acid protein that contains four putative transmembrane domains and is localized to the basolateral plasma membrane of RPE cells. Understanding Bestrophin′s function and role in ion transport is critical for developing therapeutic strategies for retinal diseases associated with its dysfunction.

Do I understand right: best1 antibody sc-32792 has been tested and does NOT detect rat or mouse best1? My application is fixed, frozen sections IF. If it hasn't been tested, could I test it? Otherwise can you recommend an alternative product for best1 ?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Antibodies are not workingDear, I am sorry to say that this antibody did not work and gave me a lot of background. Of course using mice antibodies on mice tissue is not at all the best, but in my hand I had other antibodies working with less background. And moreover, the expected signal was not at all present, while the positive control worked very well. I tried 2 different dilutions 1:100 and 1: 500, but same results. I am sorry to say that, because usually Santa Cruz antibodies work very well...
