BDH1 Antibody (G-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BDH1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BDH1 (G-5) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BDH1, also known as 3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase, type 1, or SDR9C1, is a 343 amino acid protein primarily located in the mitochondrial matrix, crucial for cellular metabolism. BDH1′s mitochondrial localization enables direct participation in metabolic pathways that convert fatty acids into energy, specifically through NAD+-dependent interconversion of (R)-3-hydroxybutanoate and acetoacetate. This enzymatic activity maintains energy homeostasis, particularly during fasting or prolonged exercise when ketone bodies serve as an important energy source.
