SEE ALSO...

BBS5 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BBS5 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BBS5 (B-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BBS5 is crucial for the assembly and function of cilia and basal bodies, which are essential cellular structures involved in signaling pathways and cellular motility. Dysfunction in these structures can lead to a range of disorders, including Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS), a complex genetic condition characterized by obesity, photoreceptor degeneration, polydactyly, hypogenitalism, renal abnormalities, and developmental delays. The localization of BBS5 to ciliary basal bodies highlights BBS5′s role in maintaining ciliary integrity and function; mutations or loss of BBS5 can disrupt these processes, potentially leading to severe consequences such as photoreceptor degeneration. The diverse applications of anti-BBS5 antibody (B-11) make this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying the molecular mechanisms underlying BBS and related ciliary dysfunctions.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-515331 P appropriate for?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
