Bax Antibody (6A7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Bax in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Bax (6A7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Bax protein plays a critical role in the regulation of apoptosis, acting as a pro-apoptotic member of the Bcl-2 protein family. Bax function is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis, as Bax promotes cell death in response to stress signals, thereby preventing the proliferation of damaged or potentially cancerous cells. Bax is primarily localized to the outer mitochondrial membrane, where Bax facilitates the release of cytochrome c, a key step in the apoptotic pathway. The balance between Bax and anti-apoptotic counterpart, Bcl-2, is crucial for determining cell fate, and dysregulation of this balance can lead to various diseases, including cancer. Using anti-Bax antibody (6A7) in research can provide insights into apoptosis mechanisms and Bax role in cellular stress responses, contributing to a better understanding of therapeutic targets in cancer and other diseases.
