SEE ALSO...

Bag-3 Antibody (19) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Bag-3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. anti-Bag-3 antibody (19) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose and horseradish peroxidase (HRP). Bag-3 protein, also known as Bcl-2-associated athanogene 3 or BIS, is a 575 amino acid protein characterized by a C-terminal Bag domain and two N-terminal WW domains. This unique structure allows Bag-3 to interact with the ATPase domain of HSP 70, effectively inhibiting HSP 70′s chaperone activity and promoting the release of HSP 70-bound substrates. Such regulatory function maintains cellular protein homeostasis and prevents misfolded protein accumulation, which can lead to cellular stress and apoptosis. Bag-3′s role in cell cycle control and anti-apoptotic properties suggest potential contributions to tumor progression, making Bag-3 an important target for cancer research. Bag-3 gene is located on human chromosome 10, a region containing over 1,200 genes and representing nearly 4.5% of the human genome, highlighting Bag-3′s significance in various biological processes.

What blocking solution should I use with Bag-3 (19): sc-136467 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
