BAF53 Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects BAF53 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). BAF53 (E-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. BAF53 plays a crucial role in the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex, which is essential for regulating gene expression through ATP-dependent mechanisms. This complex is composed of several key proteins, including Brm (SNF2-α), Brg-1 (SNF2-β), Ini1 (integrase interactor 1, SNF5), BAF53 (ARPnβ), BAF57, BAF155 (SRG3), and BAF170, forming a functional core that is vital for cellular processes such as differentiation and development. BAF53 contains a conserved N-terminal motif with critical residues at serine 2 and tyrosine 6, which are integral to activity and function. BAF53 shuttles between the nucleus and cytoplasm, allowing participation in various cellular signaling pathways, and forms a complex with TIP49 and TIP48, which is known to mediate c-Myc oncogenic activity, highlighting importance in cancer biology.
