ATRX Antibody (D-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects ATRX protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-ATRX antibody (D-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ATRX plays a crucial role in chromatin remodeling and gene regulation, as a member of the SNF2 family of helicase/ATPases that facilitate dynamic restructuring of nucleosomes in an ATP-dependent manner, essential for proper transcription and replication processes. ATRX is characterized by a PHD zinc finger motif, important for interaction with specific chromatin components. ATRX localization is tightly regulated throughout the cell cycle; during interphase, ATRX associates with the nuclear matrix, while redistributing to condensed chromatin during mitosis. At M phase onset, ATRX undergoes rapid phosphorylation, relocating to short arms of human acrocentric chromosomes, forming a complex with heterochromatin protein 1 α, playing a vital role in chromosomal segregation. Mutations in ATRX are linked to severe X-linked syndromal mental retardation associated with α thalassemia, known as ATR-X syndrome, highlighting ATRX significance in cellular function and human health.

Can I use this mouse monoclonal antibody for immunohistochemical staining of mouse tissue?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
Thank you for your question. Yes. We recommend using a directly conjugated mouse monoclonal primary antibody. This antibody is currently available conjugated to phycoerythrin (sc-55584 PE), fluorescein (sc-55584 FITC), Alexa Fluor® 488 (sc-55584 AF488) or Alexa Fluor® 647 (sc-55584 AF647). Please contact Technical Service if you have further questions concerning this product.

Hello, I ordered this plasmid and accidentally have frozen it down. Is there any way that it will still work for Western Blotting? Thanks!

Asked by: Warren Floyd
Thank you for your inquiry. Our antibodies do lose reactivity from freeze-thaw cycles, however the loss of reactivity may not be complete from a single cycle. Test the antibody at a high titer to evaluate the level of reactivity still present. If you have any further questions, please contact our Technical Support department at 800-457-3801 or scbt@scbt.com
