SEE ALSO...

ATP-citrate synthase Antibody (5F8D11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ATP-citrate synthase protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), flow cytometry (FCM), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ATP-citrate synthase antibody (5F8D11) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ATP-citrate synthase, also known as ATP-citrate lyase or citrate cleavage enzyme, is a cytoplasmic homotetramer that belongs to the succinate/malate CoA ligase family, with its gene located on chromosome 17q12-q21. This enzyme plays a crucial role in cellular metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of citrate and CoA into acetyl-CoA and oxaloacetate. Acetyl-CoA is a vital substrate for fatty acid and cholesterol biosynthesis, making ATP-citrate synthase essential for energy production and lipid metabolism. Additionally, ATP-citrate synthase is significant in the biosynthesis of acetylcholine in nervous tissue, highlighting its importance in neurotransmission and overall brain function.

Hi, How this Ab is different from citrate synthase Antibody (G-3): sc-390693. Do you have FCM standardized protocol for this Ab! Thanks

Asked by: Tube
Thank you for your question. These two antibodies are directed against different proteins. This mouse monoclonal, ATP-citrate synthase (5F8D11): sc-517267, is raised against the human protein derived from the ACLY gene product (Uniprot accession number P53396). And this different mouse monoclonal antibody, citrate synthase (G-3): sc-390693, is raised against the human protein derived from the CS gene product (Uniprot accession number O75390). A link to our standard recommended protocol for FCM is provided below. https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/flow-cytometry

How much sample do you recommend loading on the gel for Western blot detection using ATP-citrate synthase (5F8D11): sc-517267?

Asked by: DefinitelyNotMatt
We recommend loading 40–60 µg whole cell lysate, 10–20 µg nuclear extract, 5-10 µg transfected lysate, or 10–20 ng purified protein per lane. A link to our complete Western blotting protocol is provided here for your reference: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
