    SEE ALSO...

Atlastin Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Atlastin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Atlastin antibody (B-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Atlastin proteins, also known as SPG3A or guanylate-binding protein 3, are integral membrane proteins localized to the Golgi apparatus and belong to the Dynamin superfamily, which is crucial for maintaining axonal integrity. Proper functioning of Atlastin plays a significant role in the dynamics of membrane fusion and fission, processes essential for neuronal health and communication. Disruptions in these processes can lead to hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP), a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the degeneration of long corticospinal neurons, resulting in spasticity and weakness in the lower extremities. Notably, Atlastin interacts with Spastin, a microtubule-severing AAA ATPase, implicated in the regulation of membrane dynamics. This interaction between Spastin and Atlastin serves as a critical component in the biochemical pathways contributing to HSP development. Mutations in the Atlastin gene (SPG3A) are responsible for approximately 10% of all autosomal dominant cases of HSP, while mutations in the Spastin gene (SPG4) account for nearly 40%, highlighting these proteins′ importance in neurodegenerative diseases.

Good afternoon, could you, please, let me know, what is the isotype, and isoform recognized by the antibody sc-374175. Does it recognize also the protein of mouse origine? Thank you in advance for the answer. Kind regards, Anna

    Asked by: Anna NC
Thank you for your inquiry. sc-374175 is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody recommended for the detection of Atlastin of human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA. We dot not expect any significant cross-reactivity with the protein of mouse origin.

I am using the LiCor/Odyssey system. Which secondary antibody do you recommend using with Atlastin (B-12): sc-374175?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
We recommend using one of our our exclusive Mouse IgG Binding Proteins conjugated to CFL 680 or CFL 790. They are suitable for use with Near-Infrared (NIR) detection systems, such as LI-COR/Odyssey and other comparable systems. A complete list of available binding proteins is available on our website here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/browse/support-products-mouse-igg-binding-proteins/_/N-ecrety
