ATF-7IP Antibody (E-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ATF-7IP in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ATF-7IP, also known as Activating Transcription Factor 7-Interacting Protein, is a 1,270 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene ATF7IP, which plays a significant role in gene expression regulation. ATF-7IP is primarily located in the nucleus, where ATF-7IP functions as a key player in recruiting transcription factors to the general transcription apparatus, thereby influencing transcription regulation and chromatin structure. Nuclear localization of ATF-7IP enables direct interaction with other nuclear proteins and complexes, facilitating transcriptional activity modulation in response to various cellular signals. Additionally, ATF-7IP mediates MBD1-dependent transcriptional repression by recruiting histone methyltransferase SETDB1, essential for histone H3 trimethylation at ′Lys-9′. This post-translational modification establishes repressive chromatin states, connecting DNA methylation to histone modification and playing a crucial role in gene silencing and chromatin remodeling. ATF-7IP (E-6) antibody serves as an invaluable tool for researchers studying gene regulation and chromatin dynamics in human cells.
