SEE ALSO...

ATF-7IP Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects ATF-7IP of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ATF-7IP (C-1) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. ATF-7IP, also known as Activating Transcription Factor 7-Interacting Protein 1, is a 1,270 amino acid protein encoded by the human gene ATF7IP. ATF-7IP plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation, acting as both an activator and a repressor depending on the cellular context. ATF-7IP is involved in recruiting transcription factors to the general transcription apparatus, which is essential for modulating transcription regulation and chromatin formation. ATF-7IP interacts with MBD1 and SETDB1, mediating MBD1-dependent transcriptional repression by recruiting complexes that enhance histone methyltransferase activity. This interaction is vital for converting dimethylated to trimethylated histone H3 at ′Lys-9′, linking DNA methylation to histone modification and influencing gene expression. ATF-7IP′s role in facilitating these processes underscores its importance in epigenetic regulation and cellular function, making ATF-7IP a valuable target for research in gene expression and chromatin dynamics.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with ATF-7IP (C-1): sc-166753 monoclonal antibody?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
