ASC Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody specifically engineered to recognize the apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing a CARD (ASC), also known as TMS1 or PYCARD. ASC monoclonal antibody (D-3) targets an epitope located between amino acids 170-195 at the C-terminus of human ASC, ensuring effective detection of ASC proteins in human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ASC is a pivotal 195 amino acid protein that features a N-terminal Pyrin-like domain (PYD) and a C-terminal caspase recruitment domain (CARD), which are essential for its role in apoptotic and inflammatory signaling pathways. The structural configuration of ASC allows ASC to facilitate interactions between adaptor proteins such as Apaf-1 and pro-caspases like CASP9, thereby promoting the activation of caspases that execute programmed cell death. Additionally, the PYD and CARD domains enable ASC to assemble into larger protein complexes, such as inflammasomes, which are critical for the regulation of immune responses and the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. Understanding the intricate structure of ASC is fundamental to elucidating ASC function in apoptosis and inflammation, making anti-ASC antibody (D-3) an invaluable tool for researchers investigating these complex biological processes. Available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® variants, ASC (D-3) antibody provides versatile applications for detailed structural and functional studies of ASC in diverse research settings.
