ARMER Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects ARMER in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ARMER, also known as ADP-ribosylation-like factor 6-interacting protein 1 (ARL6IP1 or AIP1), is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the Ras superfamily, primarily expressed in the brain, thymus, lung, and bone marrow, with lower expression levels in spleen, kidney, and liver. Notably absent in heart, ARMER is predominantly localized in early myeloid progenitor cells, where ARMER resides within intracytoplasmic membranes. ARMER plays a crucial role in regulating apoptosis by interacting with ARL6 and inhibiting caspase-9 activity, which is vital for preventing unwanted cell death during hematopoietic maturation. Inhibition of caspase-9 leads to prevention of proteolysis of downstream substrates, including vimentin and caspase-3, thereby influencing membrane trafficking, protein transport, and cell signaling pathways. Anti-ARMER antibody (E-8) is an essential tool for researchers investigating mechanisms of apoptosis and myeloid differentiation, providing insights into complex processes that govern cell survival and development.
