Arginase 1 Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody designed to detect human Arginase 1 with exceptional precision across various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Arginase 1 monoclonal antibody (A-2) targets an epitope spanning amino acids 271-322 of human Arginase 1, ensuring robust and selective binding to the target protein. Arginase 1, also called ARG1, AI, Arg-1, and PGIF, is predominantly expressed in the liver, and is a critical enzyme in the urea cycle, catalyzing the hydrolysis of arginine into ornithine and urea, which is essential for the detoxification of ammonia and the maintenance of nitrogen balance in the body. Structurally, Arginase 1 functions as a homotrimeric protein, with each monomer containing a binuclear manganese cluster that is vital for enzymatic activity. Beyond primary enzymatic role, Arginase 1 undergoes various post-translational modifications (PTMs) such as phosphorylation and acetylation, which are crucial for regulating activity, stability, and interaction with other cellular proteins. These PTMs play a significant role in modulating Arginase 1′s function in metabolic pathways, influencing processes like wound healing, immune response modulation, and cancer progression. Understanding these modifications provides insights into the regulation of arginine metabolism and involvement in various physiological and pathological conditions. Anti-Arginase 1 antibody (A-2) is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates, offering versatile options for researchers to investigate Arginase 1 in diverse experimental settings.

I am using arginase I (A-2): sc-365547 monoclonal antibody to stain paraffin embedded tissue. Do you recommend antigen retrieval when using this antibody?

Asked by: jerojero
We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from IHC on canine tissueResults on IHC from canine liver were not satisfactory, but the antibody is recorded for human tissues, so I recognize that, even if in silico the protein alignment looks decent, we cannot expect the same results.
