ARC Antibody (F-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ARC protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ARC (F-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ARC protein, also known as apoptosis repressor with CARD domain or nucleolar protein 3 (NOL3, NOP, NOP30), plays a crucial role in inhibiting apoptosis, a process vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing unwanted cell death. ARC protein′s ability to prevent apoptosis is particularly important in tissues such as skeletal muscle and heart, where cell survival is essential for proper function. The presence of 5.5- and 1.0-kb human ARC transcripts in these tissues indicates a significant role in cellular responses to stress and injury. Notably, the 1.0-kb transcript inhibits apoptosis in a dose-dependent manner when coexpressed with caspase-8, highlighting ARC protein′s potential as a therapeutic target in conditions where apoptosis is dysregulated. ARC protein interacts with caspase-2 and caspase-8 through its N-terminal death effector domain, and phosphorylation at Threonine 149 by CK2 is critical for ARC protein′s localization to the mitochondria, where ARC protein exerts protective effects against apoptosis induced by various death receptors.
