ARA70 Antibody (C-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ARA70 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). ARA70 (C-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ARA70, also known as RFG and ELE1, serves as a crucial androgen receptor coactivator, enhancing the receptor′s activity, which is vital for regulating genes involved in male sexual differentiation and reproductive function. ARA70 is implicated in the pathogenesis of certain cancers, such as thyroid carcinoma, where the Ret proto-oncogene can fuse with ARA70 to form the Ret/PTC3 fusion protein through an intrachromosomal inversion of chromosome 10. ARA70 exists in two isoforms, ARA70α and ARA70β, with ARA70α being widely expressed, particularly in testis and adipose tissues, while ARA70β is exclusively found in the testis. ARA70α acts as a ligand-enhanced co-activator of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) in adipocytes, although androgenic receptor can inhibit ARA70α′s transactivation potential, indicating a complex interplay between these signaling pathways. ARA70α does not possess intrinsic transcription activation or histone acetyltransferase activity but interacts with key transcriptional co-activators such as p/CAF, CBP, and p300/CBP-associated factors, as well as the basal transcription factor TFIIB. ARA70 interacts with the androgen receptor through the receptor′s ligand-binding domain, and ARA70 can enhance the androgenic activity of 17-β Estradiol and antiandrogens, suggesting a significant role in estrogen-androgen synergism, which may contribute to prostate carcinogenesis and ovarian cancer.
