    SEE ALSO...

apoA-V Antibody (A-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects apoA-V of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). apoA-V (A-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. apoA-V, encoded by the human apoA-V gene, consists of 366 amino acids and plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism, particularly in regulating plasma triglyceride levels. apoA-V is primarily synthesized in liver and adipose tissue and secreted into bloodstream, where apoA-V interacts with other apolipoproteins and lipoproteins to modulate lipid transport and metabolism. apoA-V influences triglyceride levels, which are critical for maintaining cardiovascular health, as elevated triglyceride levels are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular diseases. Understanding apoA-V function and interactions with other proteins can provide insights into lipid disorders and potential therapeutic targets for managing dyslipidemia.

Why there are 2 bands on the western blot figure of Y79 (A) and HeLa (B) whole cell lysates? I see in the picture you recommend both of them are APOA5 protein. What are the differcence between the 2 bands and other pictures, 1 band?

    Asked by: jdsf1291
Thank you for your question. Western blotting is a technique that separates proteins based on size and their migration is also affected by other factors and so the actual band size observed may differ from that predicted. apoA-V can be affected by post-translational modifications, in this case phosphorylation, which increases the size of the protein. This depends on the status of the protein in the cells.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-393722 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
