APC8 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects APC8 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). APC8 (D-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. APC8, also known as CDC23, plays a crucial role in the anaphase-promoting complex (APC), which is essential for proper cell cycle progression. APC8 functions as a component of APC that facilitates ubiquitination of mitotic cyclins and other regulatory proteins, promoting sister chromatid separation during metaphase to anaphase transition in mitosis. This process ensures accurate chromosome segregation, which maintains genomic stability and prevents aneuploidy, a condition often associated with cancer. APC8 contains nine tetratricopeptide repeat (TPR) units, which mediate protein-protein interactions, enabling APC to function effectively. Additionally, the APC8 gene is located on human chromosome 5q31.2, a region frequently implicated in myeloid leukemias, highlighting its potential significance in cancer research.
