SEE ALSO...

APC4 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects APC4 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). APC4 (B-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The anaphase-promoting complex (APC), which includes APC4 as one of its key components, plays a crucial role in regulating the cell cycle by facilitating the transition from metaphase to anaphase during mitosis. This complex is composed of over ten subunits, including APC1, APC2, APC4, APC5, APC7, APC8, APC10, and APC11, and is essential for the ubiquitination and subsequent degradation of mitotic cyclins and other regulatory proteins, ensuring proper chromatid separation. APC4, also known as ANAPC4, consists of 808 amino acids and is vital for the assembly and function of the APC. APC activity is tightly regulated by various factors, including CDC20, CDH1, and MAD2, which modulate cyclin-ubiquitination activity and prevent premature activation. Understanding APC4 function and regulation is important for elucidating cell division mechanisms and potential implications in cancer biology, where cell cycle dysregulation can lead to tumorigenesis.
