AP-2β Antibody (E-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AP-2β protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AP-2β antibody (E-8) is available as the non-conjugated form. AP-2β protein is a crucial member of the AP-2 transcription factor family, which also includes AP-2α and AP-2γ, and binds to the DNA consensus sequence CCCCAGGC to initiate transcription of specific genes. AP-2β, a splice variant of AP-2α, plays a significant role in regulating gene expression related to developmental processes and cellular differentiation. AP-2β protein is particularly important in breast cancer, as AP-2β protein is involved in upregulating the proto-oncogene c-ErbB-2, which is overexpressed in 25-30% of breast cancer cases. AP-2β protein interaction with other transcription factors, such as the OB2-1 complex, further underscores AP-2β protein importance in gene regulation and cellular signaling pathways. AP-2β protein has been implicated in modulating estrogen receptor expression, highlighting AP-2β protein potential role in hormone-responsive cancers. With applications across western blotting (WB) and immunohistochemistry, AP-2β monoclonal antibody (E-8) serves as an essential tool for researchers studying gene regulation, cancer biology, and developmental processes.
