    SEE ALSO...

Antiquitin Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Antiquitin protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Antiquitin antibody (A-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Antiquitin, also known as ALDH7A1 (aldehyde dehydrogenase 7 family, member A1), is a 539 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in the detoxification of aldehydes, particularly those derived from lipid peroxidation and alcohol metabolism. ALDH7A1 is predominantly expressed in tissues such as the ovary, heart, eye, kidney, and ear, highlighting ALDH7A1′s importance in various physiological processes. ALDH7A1 is involved in the metabolism of neurotransmitters and corticosteroids, which are essential for maintaining normal cellular function and homeostasis. Mutations in the gene encoding ALDH7A1 can lead to pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy (PDE), a rare neurological disorder characterized by seizures that manifest in infancy, along with symptoms such as muscle rigidity, convulsions, and loss of consciousness. Understanding ALDH7A1′s function and implications in metabolic pathways underscores the significance of Antiquitin monoclonal antibody (A-7) in research and clinical applications, particularly in studying disorders related to aldehyde metabolism.
