Annexin II Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 324–339 at the C-terminus of human Annexin II, also known as Annexin A2, p36, Calpactin I heavy chain, Chromobindin-8, and Lipocortin II. Anti-Annexin II antibody (E-11) detects Annexin II of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and is also reactive with additional species including equine, canine, bovine, and porcine. Annexin II is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein involved in various cellular processes such as membrane trafficking, endocytosis, exocytosis, and cellular adhesion. Annexin II forms a heterotetramer complex with the S100A10 protein (also known as p11), termed calpactin I, which plays a crucial role in plasminogen activation by serving as a cell surface receptor for tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and plasminogen, thereby facilitating fibrinolysis. Annexin II interacts with various proteins, including cytoskeletal elements and Src family kinases like Src pp60, which phosphorylate Annexin II and modulate its function in signal transduction pathways. Annexin II protein′s interaction with p85, the regulatory subunit of phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), implicates Annexin II in cell growth and survival pathways. Anti-Annexin II antibody (E-11) enables researchers to study Annexin II′s role in physiological processes and pathological conditions such as cancer progression, inflammation, and coagulation disorders.
