Ang-1 Antibody (C5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG antibody that detects Ang-1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-Ang-1 antibody (C5) is available as non-conjugated format, providing researchers with a reliable tool for studying this critical protein. Angiopoietin-1 (Ang-1) plays a vital role in angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels, and is essential for proper endothelial cell development and function. Ang-1 is primarily secreted and acts as a ligand for the Tie-2 receptor, which is crucial for vascular stability and integrity. Ang-1′s interaction with Tie-2 promotes endothelial cell survival and inhibits apoptosis, making Ang-1 a key player in maintaining vascular homeostasis. Additionally, Ang-1 has a potential fibrinogen-like domain at its carboxy terminus and coiled-coil regions at the amino terminus, which may influence interactions and functional properties. Understanding the mechanisms of Ang-1 and signaling pathways is important for developing therapeutic strategies for diseases characterized by abnormal angiogenesis, such as cancer and diabetic retinopathy. Furthermore, angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2) acts as a natural antagonist to Ang-1, highlighting the delicate balance of angiogenic factors in vascular dynamics regulation.
