ALY Antibody (11G5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ALY protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-ALY antibody (11G5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALY protein, also known as THO complex subunit 4, THOC4, REF1, Refbp1, and BEF, plays a crucial role in mRNA processing and export, functioning as a transcriptional coactivator. ALY protein is essential for spliceosome assembly, being recruited to messenger ribonucleoprotein (mRNP) complexes and becoming tightly associated with spliced mRNPs, highlighting ALY′s importance in gene expression regulation. ALY protein′s co-localization with splicing factors in the nucleus underscores a role in mRNA maturation, while interaction with transcription factors containing basic leucine zipper domains facilitates transcriptional activation. ALY protein specifically associates with activation domains of LEF-1 and AML-1, which are integral components of T-cell receptor alpha enhancer complex. Research suggests ALY protein may mediate context-dependent transcriptional activation by promoting functional collaboration of multiple proteins within this complex, making ALY protein a significant player in immune response regulation and cellular signaling pathways.
