ALS Antibody (E-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ALS protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ALS antibody (E-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALS protein, also known as insulin-like growth factor binding protein acid-labile subunit, plays a crucial role in regulating insulin-like growth factor (IGF) signaling. ALS protein is primarily found in plasma, where ALS protein interacts with IGF binding proteins to form stable complexes that enhance bioavailability and half-life of IGFs in circulation. Such interaction is vital for maintaining proper cellular functions and growth regulation, as IGFs are key players in cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Through stabilizing these complexes, ALS protein contributes to fine-tuning IGF activity, which is essential for normal physiological processes and has implications in various pathologies, including cancer and metabolic disorders.
