ALR Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects ALR protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-ALR antibody (E-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALR protein, known as augmenter of liver regeneration, plays a crucial role in liver regeneration and cellular homeostasis. ALR exists as a homodimer and is part of the Erv1/ALR family of proteins, which are found in both higher and lower eukaryotes. ALR has two distinct forms: a cytosolic form that is essential for the biogenesis of iron-sulfur proteins and contributes to cellular iron homeostasis, and a nuclear form that regulates the transcriptional activity of the AP-1 complex. Notably, ALR is involved in the induction of S-adenosylmethionine decarboxylase and ornithine decarboxylase, both of which are vital for polyamine synthesis. This regulation of polyamine synthesis is particularly important as ALR significantly influences the various stages of liver regeneration, highlighting ALR′s critical function in maintaining liver health and facilitating recovery from injury.
