SEE ALSO...

α-dystroglycan Antibody (D-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects α-dystroglycan in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). α-dystroglycan (D-3) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Dystroglycan functions as a cell surface receptor for several extracellular matrix components, including laminins, agrin, and perlecan, which are essential for basement membrane formation during early development and proper laminin organization on the cell surface. α-dystroglycan′s function is crucial in assembling the dystrophin-associated protein complex at the sarcolemma through dystrophin interaction, and the utrophin-associated protein complex at the neuromuscular junction through utrophin association. Additionally, α-dystroglycan facilitates nicotinic acetylcholine receptor clustering at the neuromuscular junction, highlighting a vital role in neuromuscular transmission and muscle function.
