ALK-1 Antibody (RM0015-1B03) is a rat monoclonal IgG2 antibody that detects ALK-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). ALK-1 (RM0015-1B03) antibody is available as a non-conjugated anti-ALK-1 antibody, crucial for studying hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by vascular abnormalities such as dilated vessels, hemorrhages, and ischemic events in vital organs. ALK-1, also known as activin receptor-like kinase 1, plays a significant role in the TGFβ signaling pathway, which is essential for vascular development and homeostasis. Mutations in ALK-1 are linked to HHT2, leading to haploinsufficiency that disrupts normal endothelial function and contributes to the disease′s vascular malformations. ALK-1 is primarily expressed in vascular endothelial cells and preferentially binds to TGFβ1, highlighting ALK-1′s importance in mediating cellular responses to this growth factor. Understanding ALK-1 function and interactions within the TGFβ superfamily is vital for developing targeted therapies for conditions associated with vascular dysregulation.

I am using ALK-1 (RM0015-1B03): sc-101556 for immunofluorescence, what dilution of this antibody should I use?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend a starting dilution of 1:50. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunofluorescence protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
