    SEE ALSO...

ALDH3A2 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects ALDH3A2 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-ALDH3A2 antibody (G-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. ALDH3A2, also known as aldehyde dehydrogenase 3 family, member A2, plays a crucial role in the detoxification of harmful aldehydes, particularly alcohol-derived acetaldehyde, by catalyzing the NAD+-dependent oxidation of long-chain aliphatic aldehydes into fatty acids. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining cellular health and lipid metabolism, as ALDH3A2 helps prevent the accumulation of toxic aldehydes that can lead to cellular damage. ALDH3A2 is a 485 amino acid single-pass membrane protein predominantly localized to the cytoplasmic side of the endoplasmic reticulum and expressed in various tissues, including the liver, heart, lung, brain, kidney, and placenta. Defects in the gene encoding ALDH3A2 are associated with Sjögren-Larsson syndrome, a serious autosomal recessive neurocutaneous disorder characterized by severe mental retardation, seizures, and speech defects. Multiple isoforms of ALDH3A2 arise from alternative splicing events, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in different tissues.

What is the recommended fixation method for immunofluorescence staining with ALDH3A2 (G-9): sc-373921 monoclonal antibody?

    Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your inquiry. We recommend fixing cells for 5 minutes in -10°C methanol and allowing to air dry. The full protocol can be viewed here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunofluorescence-cell-staining
