SEE ALSO...

AlaRS (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects AlaRS protein of mouse, rat and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AlaRS antibody (A-6) is available as both non-conjugated form, as well as multiple conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC) and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNAs by their corresponding amino acids, linking amino acids with tRNA-contained nucleotide triplets. Class II tRNA synthases are a highly conserved subfamily of tRNA synthetases with a catalytic domain for interacting with the amino acid acceptor of the tRNA and a second domain for interacting with the rest of the tRNA molecule. AlaRS (alanyl-tRNA synthetase), also known as AARS, is a 968 amino acid cytoplasmic protein belonging to the class II subfamily of tRNA synthases. AlaRS functions as a monomer, catalyzing the ATP-dependent attachment of alanine to corresponding tRNA(Ala), producing alanyl-tRNA(Ala). Defects in the gene encoding AlaRS may lead to an accumulation of misfolded proteins within the cell, ultimately leading to cell death.

Can AlaRS (A-6): sc-165990 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, AlaRS (A-6): sc-165990 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
