    SEE ALSO...

Akt2 Antibody (1G8C12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Akt2 in mouse, rat, and human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-Akt2 antibody (1G8C12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, providing versatility for different experimental needs. Akt2, a member of the serine/threonine kinase Akt family, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways that regulate metabolism, cell growth, and survival. Specifically, Akt2 is activated by phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) in response to insulin and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). This activation is essential for mediating glucose uptake and glycogen synthesis, making Akt2 a key player in metabolic regulation and energy homeostasis. Akt2′s ability to promote cell survival and inhibit apoptosis underscores its importance in various physiological processes, including adipocyte differentiation and muscle development. Understanding Akt2′s function and regulatory mechanisms is vital for exploring therapeutic strategies in metabolic disorders and cancer, where dysregulation of this pathway is often observed.
