SEE ALSO...

AKR1B10 Antibody (F-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects AKR1B10 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AKR1B10 (F-4) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. AKR1B10, also known as aldo-keto reductase family 1 member B10, aldose reductase-like-1, small intestine reductase, or aldose reductase-related protein, is predominantly expressed in the small intestine, colon, and adrenal gland, where AKR1B10 plays a crucial role in carbohydrate metabolism and detoxification processes. AKR1B10 functions as an efficient reductase for both aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes, maintaining cellular homeostasis and protecting tissues from carbonyl stress. AKR1B10 is involved in steroid metabolism and may influence the retinal-retinoic acid signaling pathway, highlighting AKR1B10′s importance in various physiological processes. AKR1B10 shows overexpression in non-small cell lung carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, with cigarette smoking identified as a significant contributing factor. AKR1B10′s ability to regulate cell proliferation and respond to oxidative stress underscores AKR1B10′s potential as a therapeutic target in cancer and metabolic disorders.
