    SEE ALSO...

AID Antibody (H-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Activation-induced Cytidine Deaminase (AID) of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-AID antibody (H-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Activation-induced Cytidine Deaminase is a crucial 198-amino acid RNA-editing enzyme that contains a conserved cytidine deaminase motif, playing a vital role in B-cell terminal differentiation. AID monoclonal antibody (H-3) targets proteins primarily located in germinal center B cells, where AID facilitates the production of neutralizing antibodies such as IgG, IgA, and IgE. The proper functioning of AID is essential for immunoglobulin class switch recombination (CSR) and somatic hypermutation, processes that are critical for generating a diverse and effective antibody response. Deficiencies in AID lead to Hyper-IgM syndrome (HIGM2), characterized by the absence of CSR and somatic hypermutations, resulting in lymph node hyperplasia and the presence of giant germinal centers. Additionally, AID-deficient mice exhibit a hyper-IgM phenotype, underscoring AID′s importance in multiple stages of B-cell differentiation necessary for robust immune responses.
