SEE ALSO...

AFAP-110 Antibody (D-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects AFAP-110 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). AFAP-110 (D-11) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The actin filament-associated protein (AFAP-110) plays a crucial role in cellular signaling and organization by interacting directly with actin filaments through its C-terminal actin-binding domain. AFAP-110 contains additional protein-binding domains, functioning as an adaptor that links signaling molecules to actin filaments, thereby facilitating the formation of larger signaling complexes. AFAP-110 activates Src kinases in response to cellular signals and influences actin organization as a cross-linking protein. The structural integrity of AFAP-110 is vital, as deletion of specific binding elements, such as the leucine zipper motif, can lead to significant alterations in actin phenotypes, including repositioning of actin into rosettes. These changes in actin cytoskeletal conformations are critical, as they can inhibit cell division and movement, making AFAP-110 a potential therapeutic target for controlling tumorigenesis and metastasis.
