adseverin Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects adseverin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-adseverin antibody (C-2) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Adseverin, also known as Scinderin, is a 715 amino acid protein that belongs to the Villin/Gelsolin family and plays a crucial role in regulating the cytoskeleton. Adseverin is primarily localized to the cytoskeleton, where this calcium-dependent protein severs actin filaments. Adseverin′s cellular location enables modulation of the microfilament network beneath the plasma membrane, essential for processes such as exocytosis and cellular motility. In vitro studies have shown that adseverin exhibits barbed end capping and nucleating activities with calcium ions, highlighting adseverin′s regulatory role in actin dynamics. Additionally, adseverin contains six Gelsolin-like repeats and exists in two isoforms through alternative splicing, contributing to functional versatility in various cellular contexts.
